Software Engineer, Machine Learning and Computer Vision

Path BioAnalytics, Inc. (PBA) is an emerging biotech company based in Chapel Hill, NC. We are developing assays and databases for precision medicine by combining innovative epithelial cell culture technology with proprietary analytics. PBA is seeking a software engineer to develop and implement machine learning and computer vision platforms and data systems.

Our cell culture platform’s ability to measure drug response in primary epithelial tissue offers significant benefits over competing technologies in terms of speed, accuracy and biological relevance. These benefits help our partners–pharmaceutical companies and academic researchers–make more informed decisions about drug development and testing. In order for our partners to fully leverage these benefits, PBA is developing custom image analysis and processing pipelines to further increase the efficiency of our service. Your work will have a significant impact on the trajectory of research and drug development across multiple disease types. You will work with a small team of diverse scientists across multiple fields to develop custom solutions to critical problems.

Candidates should have:

  1. MS or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, or related field;
  2. Experience with the design and implementation of machine learning and computer vision systems;
  3. Familiarity with Julia, Python, MatLab, C++ programming.

Ideal candidates will be adept at programming in Julia and will have experience working with TensorFlow, Mocha, and similar machine learning packages.
