Applications are invited for two tenure-track Assistant Professors in Statistics positions in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Old Dominion University (ODU), starting Fall 2018. The department is seeking outstanding scholars in some of the new emerging areas of Computational Statistics or Data Science with a demonstrated potential for excellent research and external funding, and commitment to teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. The successful person will have a Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics or related fields and serve the university’s new initiative in Big Data Analytics and Data Science. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualification and experience. It is anticipated that the new faculty will expand the department course offerings and participate in the building of a strong academic program in Data Science at the graduate level.
