Applied Statistics or Undergraduate Mathematics Education Tenure-Track Faculty

Pending budgetary approval, the Program of Mathematics and Statistics at Louisiana Tech University anticipates filling multiple tenure track positions, commencing September 1, 2018. Applicants should have research interests related to Applied Statistics. Candidates with research interests in Undergraduate Mathematics Education, who also possess a strong statistical background, are also invited.

The Program of Mathematics and Statistics is housed in the College of Engineering and Science, whose vision is to be a world leader in integrating engineering and science in education and research. The College is experiencing significant growth and is undertaking an aggressive faculty recruiting campaign to attract culturally and academically diverse faculty of the highest caliber. The Program of Mathematics and Statistics offers a B.S. and an M.S. degree in Mathematics and is a major participant in the interdisciplinary Ph.D. program in Computational Analysis and Modeling. The successful candidate is expected to teach Statistics in the College’s interdisciplinary undergraduate and graduate curricula and to establish an externally-funded research program. Candidates working in Undergraduate Mathematics Education may also have the opportunity to teach STEM education courses. Candidates must possess excellent teaching and research credentials as well as a Ph.D. in Statistics, Mathematics or a related field by the start date. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications.

Most research activity in the College is focused around multidisciplinary research centers. Candidates whose research areas align with the missions of the research centers and current strengths of the Program are encouraged to apply.
