Biostatistician I/II – University of Florida Health Cancer Center

The University of Florida Health Cancer Center (UFHCC) invites applications for a masters level biostatistician. The position reports directly to the Director of the UFHCC Division of Quantitative Sciences and the Biostatistics & Computational Biology Shared Resource.

Position Title: Biostatistician

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide biostatistical support to Cancer Center members.
  • Conduct appropriate statistical analysis under the supervision of faculty biostatisticians.
  • Design, test, implement, validate, and document statistical computer programming in high level statistical software packages including SAS and R.
  • Produce reproducible data analysis programming skills.
  • Write summary reports and create graphs for manuscripts and research proposals.

Position Qualifications:

  • Level I: A Master’s degree in biostatistics or statistics
  • Level II: A Master’s degree in biostatistics or statistics and 3-5 years as a data analyst working in a team-oriented research environment

Specific Job Requirements:

  • Experience in the analysis of biomedical data.
  • Experience in high-dimensional data management.
  • Excellent skills using R and SAS.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Salary Range: Final salary and level determinations will be made on the basis of the selected candidate’s qualifications according to the specific job requirements and posted ranges listed below.

  • Level I: $60,000 – $67,000
  • Level II: $66,900 – $74,600
