Dr. Matthias Katzfuss is seeking a postdoctoral research associate at the Department of Statistics at University of Wisconsin–Madison. The research is related to one or more of the following areas:

scalable machine learning using Gaussian processes
-
geospatial analysis of massive satellite data and climate-model output
-
nonlinear, ultra-high-dimensional filtering (data assimilation)
-
probabilistic machine learning using transport maps and Gaussian processes
The position is designed as a career-building step for a junior scholar, with the development of a research program as a focus. The postdoc will be trained in conducting and presenting research, publishing papers, and creating software for wide dissemination of the research.
