Assistant Professor in Statistics
The Statistics Program in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Florida International University invites applicants for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Statistics beginning in Fall 2025. We welcome applications from candidates with expertise in all areas of Statistics and those with experience in interdisciplinary areas are particularly encouraged.
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in Statistics or a closely related field and show evidence of the potential to obtain external funding. Preference will be given to those with a record of research in their early careers with demonstrated abilities to pursue their research agenda. The position requires teaching diverse audiences at both graduate and undergraduate levels, and active participation in departmental and university activities.
The Statistics program is housed within the Mathematics and Statistical Sciences department and has a newly approved Ph.D. major track in Statistics. The successful candidate will be expected to help mentor doctoral students.
