NITMB Fellows conduct independent research programs focused on developing new mathematics and statistics relevant to challenges in biology. This call is aimed at young scientists trained in mathematics (pure and applied, including statistics) with exceptional research promise and interested in exploring new mathematical challenges emerging from biological phenomena. Prior experience with biology is not required. Through collaborative research projects with NITMB members, the Fellows will be part of a large endeavor to build new bridges between mathematics and biological disciplines.
Appointments can start as early as April 1, 2025, but no later than January 1, 2026, and will be at the internal University rank of Postdoctoral Scholar. This position is open to individuals less than seven years post-attainment of their Ph.D. degree. NITMB Fellows will be part of a thriving intellectual community with no teaching obligations, allowing complete dedication to groundbreaking research. There are opportunities to participate in NITMB-sponsored outreach programs.
