The Division of Analytics and Informatics (DAI) in the Office of Biostatistics (OB), Center of Drug Evaluation Research (CDER) at Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is growing and seeking graduating Master-level students in statistics and biostatistics. Interested candidates will get an opportunity to make a direct impact to public health by supporting the agency’s mission through their statistical leadership, expertise, and advice to ensure safe and effective drugs are available to the American people.
As a Statistical Analyst, you will be a part of the Division of Analytics and Informatics (DAI) in the Office of Biostatistics (OB) at the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER). In this position, not only will you work with a multidisciplinary review team to provide your statistical expertise on drug application submissions, but you will also work on other exciting projects and initiatives e.g., machine learning and natural language processing to assess internal and external data sources, develop software using appropriate statistical programs, and data visualization.
The minimum qualifications include possessing a Master’s degree in statistics or biostatistics, proficiency in either SAS or R, and familiarity with other data science tools. Non-citizens are welcome to apply. There is a US residency requirement for all candidates – the candidate must have resided in the US for three of the last five years immediately prior to applying for this position.
