Brief summary of position: Dr. Debashree Ray is seeking to hire a full-time postdoctoral fellow in statistical genetics (can start as early as April 2024) for a National Institutes of Health (NIH)-funded research program. The postdoctoral fellow will work on development of statistical methods and open-source software/tools in human genetics, with a focus on family-based study designs. Particular methodological challenges that the fellow will get to work on are non-additive genetic effects and effects of uncommon genetic variants. The fellow will also be expected to contribute substantially to application areas (related to above research problems) using rich datasets on child health outcomes available from families with diverse ancestry. The fellow will be supervised by Dr. Ray, and have the opportunity to work with Dr. Ray’s long-time statistical collaborators, such as Dr. Nilanjan Chatterjee and Dr. Ingo Ruczinski, as well as with her epidemiological data collaborators.
