Assistant Professor – Texas A&M University-Kingsville

The Department of Mathematics at Texas A&M University-Kingsville invites applications for a tenure–track appointment (nine-month basis) in statistics at the Assistant Professor level, beginning Fall 2025.

 

Required Qualifications

Applicant should have a doctorate in statistics or in a closely related field. He/she must have completed at least 18 graduate hours in statistics. ABD considered. Skills and commitment to providing high-quality education is essential.

Preferred Qualifications

The department offers an MS program in Statistical Analytics, Computing, and Modeling. Preference will be given to applicants with at least 18 graduate hours in statistics and 18 graduate hours in mathematics, along with experience in computational statistics, big data, multivariate analysis, and spatial statistics. However, we encourage applicants from all areas of statistics to apply.

Experience in writing grant proposals, securing external funding, and student recruitment will be viewed as additional strengths. The successful candidate will be expected to guide MS theses or projects.
