An internship at our downtown Chicago headquarters is available for a candidate who can improve the functionality of a visualization toolkit used by our data scientists. The candidate should make maximal use of existing open source tools (such as the ggplot2, plot.ly, ggvis, lattice, and Shiny. The goal is to build out additional functionality to aid in more efficient and timely creation and evaluation of predictive models. Key additional functionality will include:
Easy-to-use “house-style” graph templates
Interactive graphics output
Additional functionality may also include easier ways to embed graphs in project documentation.
The successful candidate will have experience developing packages in R and be comfortable with S4 objects and methods. Experience in data visualization and experience with Shiny are preferred but not required.
