The Department of Operations Research at the Naval Postgraduate School is in an exciting period of growth and seeks applications for an open-rank tenure-track position. A successful candidate will be expected to teach and develop a research program in areas related to defense and homeland security operations research, which includes data science, healthcare, logistics, infrastructure, energy, environmental, and cyber applications. We will consider candidates with any quantitative background, but will prioritize candidates who focus on statistics, machine learning, experimental design and analysis, logistics systems modeling, or military operations research.
The Department of Operations Research at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California is one of the oldest and largest OR departments in the world. Our students are primarily military officers from the U.S. and its allies pursuing Master’s degrees in defense-oriented OR topics. We also have a small Ph.D. program. Our students are capable, mature, and hard working. The department has over 40 faculty members, with 21 tenure-track professors, who do research in stochastic modeling, statistics, optimization, and simulation. Our research addresses important and challenging problems in national security and we foster close collaborations with U.S. Navy and Department of Defense sponsors, as well as other universities. Minimum qualifications:
-Have or expecting a Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Relocation package, including recruitment and/or relocation incentive may be authorized.
