The Department of Mathematical Sciences invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor position with an emphasis in applied statistics and data science, beginning June 2024. This is a tenure-track position. We want an individual who possesses or can develop the skills to assume a significant leadership role in our data science and/or operations research program. The chosen candidate will join nine other full-time civilian professors in a dynamic department which includes approximately thirty-five military faculty members.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A Doctoral degree in statistics, data science, mathematics, applied mathematics, operations research, or closely related field. Demonstrated expertise in statistics or data science is required for applicants whose doctoral degree is in another field. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. Every faculty member must have the personal attributes of integrity, cooperation, and initiative.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A strong preference will be given to applicants whose education and experiences indicate the ability to engage in our statistics and data science program, with the potential to assume a leadership role in the development and management of the program. Applicants should have experience or have demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring underrepresented students. In addition, a strong record or potential for research involving undergraduates is highly valued.
