The Department of Statistics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign invites applications for an open rank tenure-system faculty (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) position in the area of Neuroinformatics (100% for 9 months). Specific areas of interest include (but are not limited to) high-dimensional statistics for neurobiology and behavioral data, multi-scale neural network inference, inference of dynamic networks and statistical approaches for processing and analyzing large neuroscience datasets. Successful candidates are expected to teach effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, establish and maintain an active and independent research program, and provide service to the department, the university and the profession. Candidates are required to have a PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science or a related field at time of appointment. Candidates who will complete all the Ph.D. requirements within the first appointment year may be appointed at the rank of Instructor. After the Ph.D. requirement is met, the appointment will be changed to Assistant Professor. Applicants at the assistant professor level should provide evidence of potential for research and high-quality teaching excellence. Applicants at the associate/full professor level should provide evidence of established research and teaching excellence appropriate for appointment with tenure.
