Multiple Math and Statistics positions – Mount Holyoke College

The Mathematics and Statistics Department of Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA is searching for multiple positions at any rank in Math and Statistics, starting Fall 2024. We are looking for candidates who are excited to join our department and to add to our dynamic program, in research interest, teaching, and student mentoring. Some more details about the job are given below, but we hope you could share this email widely.

Mount Holyoke College is a gender-diverse women’s liberal arts college in Western Massachusetts with a history of supporting students in STEM. In 2021-2022, approximately 34% of students were STEM majors. The student body is diverse: 24% of students are international citizens, and 25% of students identify as domestic students of color.

Our work as faculty falls strongly into the “teacher-scholar” model. Teaching is highly valued, and the students are so amazing that they make it easy to teach. There is also a vibrant research community supported by a lighter teaching load (two classes per semester), travel funds, start-up for labs or computing equipment, access to a high speed computing cluster at neighboring UMass-Amherst, a large network of colleagues in the Five College Consortium, and funding for student research.

Our department brings together mathematicians and statisticians with a collaborative environment. We offer majors in mathematics, statistics (since 1986), and data science (since 2019).

We are accepting applications through mathjobs.org at https://www.mathjobs.org/jobs/list/22755. The application deadline is October 1 but late applications may be considered. We will also consider applications with fewer than three letters of recommendation, though we will ask for a full set for candidates that advance far enough in our search.

You can contact the search chairs directly with questions about the position.
