Mathematics and Statistics Postdoctoral Fellow – Auburn University

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Auburn University invites applications for several one- or two-year postdoctoral positions. Each year is considered a 12-month appointment. The two-year appointments would be non-renewable, while the one-year appointments would be renewable once pending need, satisfactory performance, and availability of funding. Each postdoctoral scholar is responsible for teaching 3 courses per year. The desired starting date is August 16, 2022.

The Network Learning & Traversal (NLT, (webhome.auburn.edu/~ezc0066/NLT-Lab.html)) research group, led by Prof. Elvan Ceyhan (ceyhan@auburn.edu) at Auburn University, AL, USA, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position. This role focuses on problems at the interface between (several of) the following areas:

–       Random graph theory and percolation

–       Computational statistics, statistical learning, and deep learning for

–       Stochastic optimization and network optimization

This postdoctoral opportunity aims to empower early-career researchers by centering on the development of their individual research agendas. The position is an integral part of the “Stochastic Obstacle Scene Problem with Adversarial Agents” project, set to commence in August 2024. The role demands engaging in robust research, contributing to academic publications, and assuming a mentorship role for PhD students.
